My Story
I like horses. I like being near them, I like barn chores, I like riding and I like the community that surrounds them. Horses are my passion and now I am making it official by creating a club and giving it a name and a purpose.
Susie’s Horse Club provides expert and affordable massage therapy designed to support soft tissues, sustain the health of your horse and serve the equine community. Plus, we’ll have a ton of fun while we’re at it.
My equine experience dates back to an auction site in South Dakota where my dad bid on a pony named Candy for $250. Candy was naughty but I was an 8-year-old in love and so it began. I soon graduated to horses and was an active member of my local 4-H group for many years. Then, I loped into the Quarter Horse world on a sorrel gelding named Watson who I still have today. In between weekends at the shows, I earned a college degree and worked as a vet assistant in both small and large animal clinics. Now, Watson is retired and I ride at a local hunter/jumper barn. We are both happy.
I am a nationally board-certified large animal massage therapist who looks forward to providing expert care to your better (horse) half.
Trained at the Northwest School of Animal Massage, I focus on body therapies intended to support your partner from pasture to performance. My studies in anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, behavior and animal massage technique help me put together a unique and comprehensive plan each time we work together. I specialize in two areas of equine massage, maintenance and performance, and I use a variety of techniques to manipulate soft tissue with my hands. You won’t see fancy gadgets or colorful tape, but I will know how your horse feels from session to session.
A happy horse creates a happy owner who spreads joy within their community. That’s the kind of club I want to be a part of.
